Louisiana's Brown Pelican almost didn't make it. DDT nearly wiped it out by the 1960s, and it took decades of conservation work to bring the population back, which makes this bird extra worth celebrating. Caught mid-glide over the Gulf, the illustration has all the drama the comeback deserves. A meaningful pick for anyone with Louisiana roots or a soft spot for a good comeback story.

Matte paper was made for scenes like this. The Gulf blues go deep instead of flat, the wings stay sharp, and there's no glare cutting across the wingspan when the light hits. Thick, archival museum-grade stock, built to handle humid coastal walls.
